This is a stunning Mid-Century Modern Faux Malachite Dining Table designed by Louis Gartner in the early 70s. We purchased it from Gartner at the shop he had on Worth Avenue in Palm Beach, FLA.

Gartner was known for his books on faux finishes in needlepoint (you can still find them on Amazon) and he was a consultant for Sotheby's for many years.

The table consists of four pieces: Two U-shaped Lucite bases, the tabletop, which locks on to the bases and a faux Malachite cross bar that threads through the bases. It measures 78" Long x 44" Wide x 30" high and can seat 8 -10. It would also make a splendid foyer table or stunning desk.

It has one condition issue that is completely hidden. We had a couple of brass screws added to the top of one of the Lucite bases which had developed a fine crack. Totally hidden once tabletop is snapped on to the bases. Lucite bases could be replaced, but didn't want to ruin the value, etc.
